A 21-year-old was stabbed in the chest during a gang fight Tuesday, August 18, and a week later authorities are still on the lookout for the suspect.

Sheriff’s deputies received a call just before 7:30 p.m. reporting a fight involving up to 10 subjects at Walnut Lane near Ella Lane-in unincorporated County area near Hollister Avenue, between Patterson and Turnpike. Deputies arrived to find the male victim, who was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Drew Sugars.

Later in the evening, a sergeant pulled over a vehicle at Cathedral Oaks and Camino del Remedio matching the description of a vehicle seen driving away from the scene of the fight. A search of the SUV uncovered a knife, and authorities believe the male passenger, 21-year-old Ismael Torres, was involved in the fight, though they don’t believe he stabbed the victim. Authorities are still trying to determine if the recovered knife was used in the stabbing.

Torres was arrested for probation violation and felony child endangerment. The female driver, 18-year-old Tania Jimenez, was arrested for being an accessory after the fact and child endangerment. The couple’s one-year-old was released to a family member.
