Ashley Johnigan, found guilty of murder, vehicular manslaughter, and two misdemeanor drunk-driving charges by a Santa Maria jury in September, had her sentencing delayed Thursday. Her attorney, Robert Sanger, requested the continuance.

A vehicle driven by Johnigan, 24, struck and killed Laura Cleaves, an investigator in the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office, on Highway 154 near the intersection of Highway 246 on May 1, 2008. Johnigan had been at the Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez.

Johnigan was ordered back to court November 19. She faces 15 years to life in prison.
