I am absolutely appalled that the $295,000 grant received by the Housing Authority went to provide solar panels at the Laguna Street maintenance facility, and for solar panels at Vista La Cumbre (a gorgeous place with a five year waiting list!) and Presidio Springs on Laguna Street.

Come on! Villa Caridad was occupied by December 2008. There is no transportation provided here after an entire year. There are persons living here with no cars, with walkers and wheelchairs, on limited budgets, who cannot get to doctor and medical appointments or do any shopping. (Buses are two blocks away.) You have a van at Garden Court; Shifco has a van two times a week, plus an MTD stop right in front of their facility. Presidio Springs and Lagunitas Cottages have transportation (Housing Authority van). We need transportation. The Hell with solar panels for maintenance, let’s get some vans to Villa Caridad.-S.E.
