I have lived in Santa Barbara since 1983 and have watched a lot of changes, most of them not so good. To name a couple:

#1, the beach bike path which is and has been for too long now open to bicyclists, walkers, Segways (yes, people who have a disability should be able to use these on the path), surreys, etc . What a mess.

#2 , someone decides to put a homeless center close to the beach hotels =tourists. So now we have to deal with drunks hanging out at the baseball field, and on the grass by the beach; which obviously the authorities can`t handle so they make laws like no alcohol on the beach , so that law abiding people cannot enjoy a beer or glass of wine on one of our many beautiful days .

Other things, like Carl’s Jr. used to have a salad bar and outside seating ,now long gone because of the homeless taking the food or just hanging out making the real customer leave . When are the people running this city going to take care of the problem and stop adding more Band-Aids? I love SB but we pay a lot to live here, don’t we? A lot of people I know agree with my thoughts.—Tony Johnson
