Repeal the Bill

March 21 and 23, were historic days. The 274 Democrats in Congress passed H.R. 3590 and President Obama signed the bill. An arrow pierced the heart of our Democratic Republic. It was the first step in transforming America into a socialist nation. Washington is now in control of healthcare. This power grab is all about money and control.

The march to pass ObamaCare, which took over a year, was against the wishes of so many Americans. The Obama administration, possibly the most corrupt in our history, used bribes, threats. legislative tricks and a heavy-handed president to accomplish the deed. Obama used an 11th hour executive order maneuver to persuade pro-life Democrats to vote for the HC bill. This administration’s abuse of power, arrogance, and utter disregard for the Constitution were on full display.

H. R. 3590 is a bad bill and Americans do not know what it contains. The HC related taxes will start immediately, while the major benefits won’t kick in until after 2014, after the next presidential election. It will impose $500 billion of new taxes and cuts Medicare $500 billion which will lead to rationing of healthcare for seniors. Also, Medicaid will be expanded by 33 percent, thereby dumping additional costs on the states and a mandate, which is unconstitutional, will demand that everyone have healthcare. Finally, the IRS will act as the enforcer and tacked onto this bill, government control of student loans.

America, this unacceptable bill will control one sixth of our economy. We must fight to reclaim our freedoms. We may have lost the first battle, but the war continues. We must repeal the bill and vote out everyone who supported the passage of H.R. 3590.—Diana Thorn, Carpinteria
