Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail earlier today after Judge Frank Ochoa ordered them remanded into custody following this morning’s hearing.

According to Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Drew Sugars, the Quaids — who are accused of bilking the San Ysidro Ranch out of a $10,000 bill after spending a week at the Montecito hotel — spent most of the afternoon going through the booking process and were released at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon after each posting a $100,000 bail.

The two had missed a number of court appearances over the last couple of months, the most recent occurring on April 12 and 13 after which authorities reissued arrest warrants for them. When they did show to court, the Quaids provided no shortage of odd moments, the more notable occurring when Evi, without explanation, paraded around one of her husband’s Golden Globes during a hearing. She also at one point stuck a credit card to her forehead while Randy pinned a plastic sheriff’s badge to his suit.

The Quaids face three felonies, including defrauding an innkeeper, burglary, and criminal conspiracy. They’ve pleaded not guilty to the charges, claiming that the $10,000 in question has since been paid. Their next court date is scheduled for Wednesday, April 28.
