Fiesta Downer

Nobody wants to be a Fiesta downer, but why was there absolutely no reporting in the media of the equestrian who was thrown from his horse to the pavement in front of Borders Books during the Fiesta Parade? He was unconscious, bleeding slightly from the head, until fire department paramedics arrived and provided treatment (five to 10 minutes later). It appeared that someone from the crowd (a doctor?) provided initial medical attention. An ambulance eventually arrived and transported him to the hospital, where he was reportedly admitted to the ICU. The parade was delayed for at least 20 minutes—wasn’t anyone else curious about the delay? Probably a couple hundred witnesses, and not a word written about it in the media, nor mentioned by any of the Fiesta organizers. Very strange. The media’s responsibility to keep the community informed; event organizers’ role is to acknowledge and respond to such near-tragedies.
