At around 9:45 p.m. last night, September 14, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputies were called out to a fight in progress in Goleta. When they arrived, said department spokesperson Drew Sugars, deputies discovered a large amount of blood in the entryway to an apartment complex on the 300 block of Ellwood Beach Drive. They weren’t, however, able to located a victim or suspect, Sugars reported.

Less than 30 minutes later, authorities were dispatched to the Goleta Valley Hospital on a report of a 25-year-old man who had arrived at emergency alone with several knife wounds. The victim was eventually moved to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and deputies attempted to interview the man but got only limited, unverified information. Sugars couldn’t say for sure if the man was connected to the fight.

Detectives are now looking for a car that may have been involved in the incident. It was described as a 2006 Silver Toyota 4Runner with a Nevada license plate (816WMH). If anyone has information, they are urged to contact Sheriff’s detectives at (805) 681-4150 or the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip Line at (805) 681-4171.
