Women Lawyers Honor Ellen Goodstein

Ellen Goodstein, Executive Director of Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County will receive the Deborah Talmage Attorney of the Year Award at the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Annual Celebration Dinner on December 13, 2010 at the Canary Hotel.

Each year, this honor is bestowed on an outstanding legal professional who is dedicated to the success of women, mentors her colleagues and other women, personifies professional excellence, committed to the highest level of ethics, and committed to our Santa Barbara Community.

Ellen excels on every point. with the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara, Ellen has worked tirelessly for those less advantaged in Santa Barbara, and before that, in Florida. Ellen has mentored her colleagues and other women lawyers in the community and has firmly supported Santa Barbara Women Lawyers and other legal organizations in Santa Barbara.

Ellen has also enriched the Santa Barbara Community as a whole, serving on the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute Board where she currently serves as President, among other activities. “We are thrilled to honor Ellen Goodstein this year, who is most deserving of this prestigious award,” said Angela D. For 51 years Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County has worked to remove victims of domestic violence permanently from harm’s way; prevent homelessness; help seniors live with dignity and independence and provide a legal safety net for low income residents of Santa Barbara County.
