Getting farm fresh produce, in season, from local fields is where we begin to make a difference. The Center for Urban Agriculture at Fairview Gardens in Goleta, is now offering local residents a chance to start making a difference by signing up for membership in its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program which begins a new season and year in January.

You can register/sign up for a weekly allotment of fresh produce which benefits you and the farm. Special Deal: Sign up before December 15 and save $100. – that’s the Benjamin Franklin referred to in the headline above. Your membership in CSA is an investment in the future of Fairview Gardens and supports the vision of a brighter future for everyone when local farm fresh food trumps low cost, low nutrition and unsustainable food trucked across country or the world.

You can pick up your share at Fairview Gardens on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons (2-6:30 pm). We also offer deliver to the Wheelhouse Bike Shop (28 Anacapa St., 4-7 pm) and Kunin Winery (528 Anacapa St., 4-6 pm) on Thursday afternoons.

Standard Share costs break-down to $20/wk (for 1-2 people) and our Family Share costs $36/wk (for 2-4 people). The winter season begins January 4 and runs for 10 weeks –- through mid-March. Registration requires a season commitment to the CSA.

– Full Year (January 4 – November 17; 46 weeks) Early Bird Special, pay by December 1, 2010 and save $100: Standard Share $880, Family Share $1,584.
