The Housing Trust Fund of Santa Barbara County is pleased to announce Fiona Teng as the new Market Research and Information Systems Intern. With grant funding provided by the U.S. Treasury CDFI Fund, Fiona will conduct market surveys, focus groups, and other forms of information gathering to identify the capital and technical assistance needs of local affordable housing sponsors. She will also help the agency build a database of all affordable housing projects in the countywide development pipeline.

Teng’s internship work is trail-blazing and will culminate in the production of the first countywide inventory and final report on the financing and technical assistance needs of key community-based groups that sponsor affordable and workforce housing needed in our diverse communities.

Fiona is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management at the UCSB Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. Her specialization in Economics and Politics of the Environment has provided her with a robust foundation in understanding the underlying factors of a healthy environment, most importantly of which is a respectable and affordable home. She brings a range of experience in marketing and public outreach from the public and private sectors to HTF. Her internship focus on community outreach and market research will assist HTF in further building on its strong history of connecting with the community to support its mission. Fiona’s position will be funded from November 2010 through June 2011.
