SBCC Trustees Name New Officers

The freshly minted 2011 edition of the Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees met for the first time this week. Amongst tackling assorted organizational tasks as they prepare for the new calender year, the seven-member board — featuring a new board majority thanks to this November’s election of first-time trustees Marty Blum, Peter Haslund, Lisa Macker, and Marsha Croninger — named Haslund, a retired SBCC professor and one time Faculty Senate head, as board president for the coming year. Longtime trustee Luis Villegas, who started his first term in 1993, was named vice president of the board for the coming year. The board’s next meeting is January 13, 2011.
