More Money for Ocean Meadows Project

The Santa Barbara Trust for Public Land (TPL) was one of the recipients of funding allocated by Caltrans for 90 projects statewide. Of the $101 million doled out this month, $350,000 will go to TPL’s Ocean Meadows Resource Lands Acquisition project. The 63-acre project includes restoring wetlands, protecting oak trees, and planting new trees within the Devereux Slough, which runs from UCSB’s West Campus to the Ocean Meadows golf course off Storke Road. This one-time payment will provide a significant shot in the arm to the Goleta project.
