Largest DARE Graduation in SBSO History

More than 225 students from six public and private schools in the Santa Ynez Valley are set to take part in the largest DARE graduation in the history of the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office.

The ceremony, which includes 5th and 6th grade students from Solvang School, Ballard Elementary, Santa Ynez Elementary, Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy, Oak Valley Elementary and Los Olivos Elementary, will take place at Santa Ynez Valley High School, at 5:30pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

Today’s graduation ceremony will include student essay winners, nationally recognized motivational performer “Retro Bill,” and the unveiling of a groundbreaking public-private partnership that ensures that the powerful life skills curriculum survives the ongoing budget crisis.
