Montecito Fire Chief Kevin Wallace, who began his fire career 30 years ago as a Santa Barbara County hot shot, will retire in May 2012, he announced at a Montecito Fire Protection District meeting on 8/15. He’s retiring to spend more time with his family, and will continue to live in Santa Barbara. The search for a replacement is not yet underway.
