In November, bipeds from around the world will arrive in our seaside town to participate in the third annual S.B. International Marathon. But don’t let the out-of-towners have all the fun — there’s still time to sign up for the 26.2-mile jaunt (the deadline to register is Wed., Nov. 9). If going it alone sounds daunting, you can sign up as a relay team, or take on the more manageable half marathon (13.1 miles). There are also a whole mess of volunteer opportunities for those of us who prefer not to run any distance. The races start at Dos Pueblos High School (full marathon) and the Page Youth Center (half marathon) and end at SBCC’s La Playa Stadium. Race day is Saturday, November 12. For more information about the races and volunteer opportunities, visit sbimarathon.com.
