Wait, wait, wait… do I have this straight? (I may have realized too late.) That speedy commuter train which will help our traffic strain will only go north in the morning and south at night? With more need for jobs forming is this plan alright? I was happy to read the Romance of the Rails Blooms report and don’t mean this as a ridiculously wordy rhyming retort, but I, for one, am not a fan of this one dimensional plan.

We might have to look south to keep food in our mouths if my friends’ jobless stints give me any hints as to the prospects of employment and career enjoyment here locally in this economy. Is there still time to negotiate? For those who go south, is driving our fate? I do prefer some progress with the current traffic mess over no progress at all. Yet, is it too small to produce real results? If we don’t think ahead, do we invite future insults? With no speedy southbound train, Santa Barbara’s working class will feel the strain.
