Goleta Gives $12,000 in Community Grant

The grants ranged from $500-$1500.

“We are very pleased to be able to support these organizations which make a difference in our community,” said Mayor Ed Easton. “In these difficult times, I am thankful that we are able to provide some funding and hope that we will be able to provide additional funding in the future.”

Grants were awarded to the following organizations which serve our community:

City at Peace – performing arts program that teaches non-violent conflict resolution skills

Food from the Heart – program that provides nutritious, high quality meals to individuals and families facing a health crisis

Friends of the Goleta Valley Library – support for the purchase of bilingual materials for parents and toddler

Friendship Adult Day Care Center – senior day care program

Goleta Valley Community Center – donation of space for programs that help seniors with their tax and medical benefits

Goleta Valley Historical Society’s Music at the Ranch Summer Concert Series

Goleta Valley Senior Center – support for the senior program’s holiday events

Partners in Education – support for career day and career information in the Goleta schools

PathPoint – work training and support services for people with disabilities

Santa Barbara ChannelKeeper – Adopt-a-Stream program

Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center – support for rape crisis intervention and prevention service

This is the 10th year the City has offered the Community Grants Program.
