This is funding will go directly to student support – funding for books, scholarships, programs, tutoring, and other essential student services. And what good timing for such as successful endeavor, now as these students are faced with cuts to the SBCC budget that will impact each and every one of them directly.

“The community support generated by the 2012 Campaign for Student Success exceeded our wildest expectations: More than 1,000 community members joined forces with us to help SBCC students to achieve a higher education—more than twice as many community members who rallied for last year’s Campaign,” said Neil Kreisel, Foundation for Santa Barbara City College Board President. “This great community response certainly proves that the Santa Barbara Community is squarely behind its outstanding community college, Santa Barbara City College.”

In the past 12 months we have doubled our donor base. We’ve also incorporated a new technology “Friends Asking Friends”. This Campaign saw more than $100,000 in small donations from our “Friends Asking Friends” technology alone. More than 34 faculty and staff members created their own teams, in addition to several board members, all Foundation staff, and dedicated donors.

“Call Nights”, a staple of the Campaign for Student Success, were successful in reaching out to thousands of Santa Barbara County Residents. Students also participated in the “Call Nights” as well.
