Those concerned about California condors and the future of the Hopper Mountain, Bitter Creek, and Blue Ridge National Wildlife Refuges are invited to a series of open houses about those areas’ conservation plans next week on Wednesday, May 16, 4-6 p.m. at Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road, in Ventura, and Thursday, May 17, 4-8 p.m., at the Historic Fort Taft, 915 North 10th Street, in Taft. Those landscapes are critical components of the condor recovery program, and the proposed plans offer a range of future uses, including increased public access. See fws.gov/hoppermountain.
