For 21 years, Joan Esposito has offered education, solace, and advocacy to those with dyslexia and ADD — long before they were household terms. She and her husband, Leslie, the Dyslexia Awareness Resource Center’s executive director, announced last weekend that they are closing their operation. With the center struggling financially and the couple planning on retiring, they could not afford to hire a successor. “It was a hard decision,” said Esposito, “but it’s been a year of just worrying about it.”
