Traditional antitax crusaders with the Taxpayers Association and Republican Party have come out in favor of parcel tax Measures A and B, which combined will generate $2.9 million a year for four years for the Santa Barbara Unified School District. Taxpayer Association president Joe Armendariz sent out a mailer to registered Republicans expressing strong support for the two parcel tax measures. Likewise, Republican Assembly candidate Mike Stoker also mailed out a supportive campaign flier under the rubric of the Santa Barbara Republican Club. Stoker also appeared at a rally for the measures at De la Guerra Plaza last week along with his Democratic rival, Hannah-Beth Jackson.
