A Few Spots Remain for Unique Cooking Class at A-RU Restaurant

The class is a benefit to support the services Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People (PHP) furnishes to vineyard and farm workers.

The class was an auction item at PHP’s 5th annual Vino de Sueños Wine Release Celebration held this past November. Demand for the cooking class was very high and Chef Bae has graciously offered to expand the class to accommodate a greater number of participants.

Guests will learn to prepare a variety of sushi rolls as well as other Japanese fare and will be treated to dinner after the class. According to PHP Board President and Vino de Sueños Committee Chair, Becky Barieau, who attended the class last year, “the cooking class is a great experience and terrific fun.”

Chef Bae said that she enjoys teaching the artful presentation of Japanese Cuisine. “Sushi appeals to the eye as well as the mouth,” she said. “The appearance of a well-prepared dish enhances the enjoyment of both the chef and the connoisseur. I like teaching people how to make beautiful food that they will enjoy to prepare, look at, and eat.”

A-RU Japanese Restaurant is located at 225 McMurray Road in Buellton. The cooking class will begin at 5 P.M. on February 10th and costs $125 per person inclusive of all supplies and dinner.
