BOUNTY OF THE VALLEY: It’s not surprising that when they talk about the Family School in the Santa Ynez Valley, those families include winemaking royalty: the Browns, Jim Clendenen, Morgan Clendenen, the Coghlans, the Horvaths, Bob Lindquist, the Murrays, the Ostinis, the Rices, Larry Schaffer, the Tensleys. In order to support the school, they’ve come together to craft a Rhône blend of syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, and viognier called Legacy, which will only be available if you support the Family School at its Bounty of the Valley Farm-to-Table dinner on March 9. In addition to the wine, other items will be up for auction, and guests will feast on the Alisal Guest Ranch’s fine fare prepared by Chef Pascal Godé.

Enjoy the Bounty of the Valley fundraiser for the Santa Ynez Valley Family School on Saturday, March 9, 5 p.m. at Alisal Guest Ranch. For tickets and info, call (805) 688-5440 or visit syvbountyofthevalley.org.

HARBOR TASTINGS AND TREASURES: The humble Maritime Museum goes glam this Saturday when it hosts its 10th annual benefit, and with the theme “Harbor Tastings and Treasures,” one should expect nothing less than some seriously tasty maritime-inspired treats. Bring your appetite and your liver: The evening will feature teases from more than 30 purveyors of wine, spirits, beer, and cuisine — all competing for a nod from a panel of area celeb judges that includes Sly’s Restaurant’s James Sly and Michael Hutchings, a frequent guest on Julia Child’s Cooking with Julia. The silent and live auctions will boast highlights including the use of the museum’s fourth floor for the Fourth of July Fireworks and a cruise aboard its 95-year-old flagship, Ranger.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the museum’s educational and curatorial programs, and the event will honor Thomas C. Parker, president of the Hutton Parker Foundation, which supports community-based nonprofit orgs throughout S.B. County. For tickets and info, call (805) 962-8404 x 102 or visit sbmm.org.
