Musical Event to Help “At-Risk” Youth
Local musicians collaborate to help “at-risk” youth through horseback riding
Concert and Dinner, March 10th 2013, 6:00-9:30pm
SOhO Restaurant & Club
The concert, designed to appeal to a diverse audience, will raise funds to give kids who have been neglected or abused an empowering experience on horseback this summer. The musicians include the inimitable Lois Mahalia, Stephen Styles, Gib Foss, Patty Castillo, Peter Claydon, Bob Rea and guests.
“Collaborations” was named to honor a 4-year partnership between Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center, CALM (Child Abuse Listening and Mediation), and the Santa Barbara Youth Project. These three organizations collaborate to give deserving kids, ages 8-14, a full week of horseback riding and horsemanship activities at Hearts each summer.
Summer horse camp makes a huge difference in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable children because horses help heal the hurt they have experienced.
The SBYP is dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children by sponsoring them to attend week-long, summer horse camps. Visit http://www.sbyp.org to learn more and to purchase dinner & concert tickets.
Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center employs the power of horsemanship to enhance the capabilities and independence of children and adults with special needs. Visit Hearts at www.HeartsRiding.org.
CALM’s vision is a world where child abuse no longer exists. Until then, our treatment services help provide happier, healthier lives for those suffering from the devastation of child abuse. Visit CALM at www.calm4kids.org
