Eight Residents Displaced After Goleta Fire
Home Had No Working Smoke Detectors
A two-story residential building at 720 Ribera Drive in Goleta erupted in flames early Monday morning.
The County Fire Department responded at 4:03 a.m. to find “heavy fire” showing from the front of the home in the garage area. The blaze quickly spread to the second floor, but firefighters got it under control by 4:48 a.m.
Eight people were displaced as a result of the fire. The home had no working smoke detectors, a County Fire spokesperson said. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
