Post Office to Stay Open Late on Tax Deadline Day

Our normal closing time of 6 p.m. is later than all other area post offices, and the 8:30 p.m. tax day closing will also be later than any other post office in Montecito or Santa Barbara.

Read ‘n Post store hopes this will be a service to people in this area who need a place to mail their income tax returns at the last minute.

The Read ‘n Post address is 1026-B Coast Village Road in the Montecito Country Mart, a few steps from the entrance to the Montecito Vons. Access is from either the Hot Springs Road parking lot or the courtyard walkway.

After their normal closing time of 6 p.m. on April 15, the post office at Read ‘n Post will be able to accept only tax payments and other envelopes — not large parcels. Stamps will also be for sale until 8:30.

All envelopes mailed at Read ‘n Post by 8:30 p.m. on Monday will receive a postmark of April 15.

In addition to the post office, the Read ‘n Post store will also stay open until 8:30 p.m. on April 15.
