Wild Animals – Up Close!

• Learn about Wildlife up-close from experts

• See up-close – Birds of Prey, Snakes, Tortoise, opossum, and more!

• See endangered species and learn why their habitat has shrunk in size

• Cost for Wildlife presentation – Free!

• Park entry fee of $10 will be charged per vehicle at the gate

• After Wildlife presentation – join Naturalist for the Junior Ranger program from 12:30pm – 1:30pm

Families are urged to bring folding chairs or a blanket to this free event on the lawn at the Center, 2265 Hwy. #154 at Cachuma Lake County Park. Please do not bring pets.

Following the program and every Saturday at 12:30 the Junior Rangers Program will be offered to children from three years old and up; under ten years must be accompanied by an adult. Pick up a bag of litter as your first assignment before attending the event. Cost of participation is $2.

A used book sale, “Hooked On Books,” will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. featuring hundreds of titles, puzzles, cd’s, etc.

The Nature Center which offers exhibits focused on the watershed of the upper Santa Ynez River is open Tuesday – Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:00; Sundays 10:00 to 2:00

Founder and Executive Director: Saving Wildlife International’s Founder and Executive Director, Steve Mehren shares his life-long love of animals and commitment to wildlife conservation with audiences across Southern California in person as well as via local and national television appearances. Steve is an engaging wildlife conservationist with more than 15 years of experience working with a wide range of animals including primates, hoof-stock, large predators, reptiles, birds of prey, and more. Whether discussing conservation or offering advice on how individuals can make a difference in their everyday life to preserve wildlife, Steve is an entertaining and knowledgeable guest speaker. His experience and education coupled with his passion for wildlife make him a tremendous asset to wildlife conservation.

Steve is as comfortable on camera as he is interacting with some of the world’s most fascinating creatures. Steve’s national appearances include Good Day Live and The Sharon Osbourne Show and local appearances include Fox’s Good Day LA and Night Cap. Steve and his animals have traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad (e.g. Korea and Puerto Rico) to spread the message of conservation. Steve is a graduate of the Exotic Animal Training and Management at Moorpark College in California.
