5/8; 12:01 PM; 3908 State Street: A man waved a knife at a bus driver in an “X” motion, not allowing the bus to leave after it made a stop. The man tried to bite a police officer while he was being arrested, yelling “I’m a big problem!”

5/8; 10:10 PM; 1212 Punta Gorda Street: Four men were seen walking away from a known drug house. Police saw one man duck behind a a car and heard the sound of shattering glass. Another man was seen throwing something in a nearby driveway. Police found broken meth pipes underneath the car and in the driveway. The two men were arrested; one was discovered to be a previously deported felon.

5/8; 10:35 PM; 111 Harbor Way: A fight broke out at Brophy Bros. restaurant between staff members and a group of customers. The fight started because one of the customers “placed hands” on a female staff member.

5/9; 11:05 PM; 23 North Salinas Street: A woman stole her father’s truck after an altercation in his home. Police recovered the vehicle one block away from the home; the suspect was in the driveway of her house and had the keys in her hand.

5/10; 10:40 AM; 400 West Montecito Street: A man was arrested after receiving his second open container citation within 40 minutes. He cursed at police calling them “fucking Nazis” while being arrested.

5/10; 7:15 PM; 701 State Street: A man was witnessed on closed circuit television stealing items from Macy’s. He fled southbound on State Street. Two loss prevention specialists and two bystanders chased the man down and detained him until police arrived.

5/11; 7:47 PM; East Gutierrez Street: A police officer witnessed a suspicious man punching a metal drainage pipe but showing no sign of pain to his hand. A witness told the officer that the suspect had brass knuckles. The man was found and arrested on weapons charges.

5/13; 5:45 PM; 1235 State Street: A homeless man “shoulder checked” a customer at Starbucks. He was detained by the customer and arrested. According to the report, the suspect assaulted the customer because he was “made fun of” for being homeless and dirty.

5/14; 4:49 PM; 15 Alisos Street: Police responded to a report of a gunshot fired out of a black sports car at a passing vehicle. Police pulled over a black Cadillac CTS containing two known Eastside gang members. No gun was found in the vehicle but a knife with a 3 and 5/8-inch blade was found under the driver’s seat.
