A semi-truck and its trailer overturned on Calle Real at around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, a city fire spokesperson said in a press statement. The solo accident occurred in the 4000 block of Calle Real and caused the truck’s fuel tank to rupture. The driver was not injured.

Emergency crews — including a hazardous materials team — responded to the incident and quickly contained the fuel leak. Multiple heavy-duty tow trucks were used to upright the truck and trailer, and the cleanup effort closed Calle Real for a few hours. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.
