Fireworks produced by Bay Fireworks and funded by the Waterfront Department will launch from West Beach and last approximately 18-20 minutes. Open for free public viewing, the public is encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the many planned activities. There will be food and beverage vendors along Cabrillo Boulevard (between State and Castillo streets) beginning at 11am through the start of the fireworks display.

Transportation:

The public is strongly encouraged to use mass transit, walk or bike to the Waterfront. Santa Barbara MTD bus and shuttle services will be available. Contact SB MTD by visiting www.sbmtd.gov or by calling (805) 963-3364 for the latest information.

Spirit of ‘76 Activities:

The annual Spirit of ’76 parade will begin at 1pm from Micheltorena Street and proceeding downward on State Street, concluding at Cota Street. Over 175 participating agencies will parade to the theme of “America the Beautiful.” Visit http://spiritof76sb.org/july4.php for more parade details. Afterwards, a free Annual Independence Day Concert will be held at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens starting at 5pm with a similar theme, “America the Beautiful – More than a place – State of mind.” Admission is free to the public. The Independence Day Concert is a collaborative effort by “Spirit of 76” and Symphony Orchestration.

SB Sparkle’s Freedom Celebration Activities:

Santa Barbara SPARKLE’s 2013 Freedom Celebration at West Beach begins at 7pm. Live stage entertainment by the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest , featuring “Global Strike,” and “Dixieland Tailgaters.” During intermission, entertainment continues with past year’s winners and finalists of the Teen Star competition. This year’s Freedom Celebration show will be hosted by JOHN PALMINTERI.

Tune into the AM Radio 1290 Simulcast:

The public is encouraged to bring personal radios and tune into AM Radio 1290, Santa Barbara’s Official 4th of July Radio Station. AM Radio 1290 will provide simulcast patriotic music to accompany the 18-20 minute pyrotechnic display.

Make this a Safe and Sane Event:

The following regulations will be observed from 12:01am to 12 midnight on July 4th. Prohibited items include no fireworks, no alcohol, no glass, no pit digging, no open fires, no dogs on the beach, and no parking adjacent to the railroad tracks. There will be no parking allowed on either side of Cabrillo Boulevard, from State Street to Castillo. Remember, be kind to your pets and leave them at home for their safety.
