Siren Test at Venoco’s Ellwood Onshore Facility

The mandatory coverage area for the siren is marked by signs. The area includes Calle Real from about the entrance to the Embarcadero Municipal Improvement District east almost to the Cathedral Oaks intersection. Also included is Hollister Avenue beginning near Bacara’s tennis courts then easterly to just past the Sandpiper Golf Course parking lot.
The sound from the siren may carry some distance beyond the mandatory coverage area, depending on weather conditions.
General Precautionary Instructions for anyone who hears the siren at or within the area with signs:
“Other than on a scheduled test, what should I do if I hear the siren?”
If parked in your car:
– Stay in your car.
– Do not start the engine if it is not already on.
– Close windows, vents and turn off air conditioner/heater.
– Turn on your radio and listen for further instructions.
– It is safe to leave when the siren stops.
If driving a vehicle:
-Close windows, shut off the heater/air conditioner and close any vents.
-Drive out of the area at a safe speed.
If riding or walking within the areas bounded by the signs:
Proceed away from the facility.
If you are outside the area and hear the siren:
Do not travel towards the facility.
If you ever hear the siren at your home:
You do not need to take any action other than to avoid traveling toward the facility until the siren stops.

NINGUNA ACCION REQUERIDA POR LOS RESIDENTES O LOS NEGOCIOS.
El area obligatoria de la cobertura para la sirena esta marcada por los signos. El area incluye Calle Real entre casi la entrada al este del Embarcadero Municipal del Distrito y la interseccion de los Cathedral Oaks. Tambien incluye Avenida Hollister comienzando cerca de los campos de tenis de Bacara hacia al este pasando los estacionamientodel de Campo de Golf de Sandpiper.
El sonido de la sirena puede llevar una cierta distancia mas alla del area obligatoria, dependiendo en las condiciones del clima.
Instrucciones preventivas generales para cualquier persona que escuche la sirena en o dentro del área con signos:
“Con excepcion encendido de una prueba programada, que debo yo hacer si oigo la sirena?”
Si está parqueado en su coche:
-Permanezca en su coche.
-No encienda el motor si no está ya encendido.
-Cierre las ventanas, las aberturas y apage el aire acondicionado/ calentador.
-Prenda su radio y escuche para instrucciones adicionales.
-Es seguro irse cuando la sirena para.
Si esta manejando un vehiculo:
– Cierre las ventanas, las aberturas y apage el aire acondicionado/ calentador.
-Salgan del area a una velocidad segura.
Si cabalgando o el caminar dentro de las áreas marcadas por los signos:
Continue lejos de la facilidad.
Si usted está fuera del área y escucha la sirena:
No viaje hacia la facilidad.
Si usted escucha la sirena cuando esta en su hogar:
Usted no necesita tomar ninguna acción, evite viajar hacia la facilidad hasta que la sirena para.
