Don Parsons of The Studio at Twin Lakes, has been named one of the “Best Teachers in California for 2013-2014” by Golf Digest magazine.

The article, which appears in the magazine’s November 2013 edition, lists the top golf instructors in the country, along with their affiliations and hourly lesson rates. Golf Digest prepares the list every two years, polling more than 1,000 teaching professionals for their opinions on their peers. It is the only list of top teachers voted on by the teachers themselves.

“I’m honored to be named among the top golf instructors in the state of California and especially proud that this recognition is a show of support from my fellow golf instructors,” Parsons said.

Don has been teaching full time in Santa Barbara for 23 years. His accomplishments include being named the Southern California PGA Teacher of the Year in 2003, The Northern Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002 and the Northern Chapter PGA Club Fitter of the Year in 2011.

Through the years Don has been instrumental in sending over 70 local students to play college golf. The following players have earned All-American honors while playing for their schools: Kevin Larsen at Georgia Tech, Nick Delio at Cal State Northridge, Matt Hansen at UC Davis and Jack Perry at Northwestern.

Don has been a Member of the PGA for 20 years and serves on the Southern California PGA Teaching Committee. He is also a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Level 3 Golf Instructor and Level 2 Biomechanist. Don also serves on the Advisory Board for KVest.
