A bicyclist who was dragged 60 feet by a train Wednesday morning survived the ordeal, after being treated for injuries to his legs at the scene and receiving cervical precautions from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and AMR medics, according to City Fire spokesman, Captain Gary Pitney. The bicyclist, a 45-year-old man, was transported to Cottage Hospital in moderate condition. He was reportedly attempting to cross the tracks at the Santa Barbara Amtrak Station despite warnings of an approaching train. He was dragged and eventually ended up underneath the train; his bike was dragged 100 feet further.
