Perhaps one of the most pivotal and exciting journeys in a child’s life starts with the voyage into Kindergarten. On January 30th, 2014, The Howard School will welcome families from Santa Barbara County to explore and get a first-hand glimpse into the marvelous adventure that begins with Kindergarten.

From 8:15am-10:00am, families with children entering Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten will have the opportunity to observe and participate in real school happenings. After a trip to Morning Assembly, families will travel to the classroom destination where they can engage in an array of activities, getting their “Passports” stamped at each station: Meet the Teacher, Live Teaching Demonstration, Art Projects, Beginning French, and Snack Time!

All prospective families will get a chance to meet one-and-only Mrs. Gonzales, the beloved superstar Kindergarten teacher at The Howard School. Likewise, Headmaster Joel Reed will be available and happy to answer any questions that parents — and little ones! — may have.

Every grade level will be open for touring, and current Howard School parents will be on-hand to offer more insight and answer any inquiries.

To see how Kindergarten at The Howard School begins the foundation of a life-long love of learning through a premier education, please call 805.745.8448 or email office@TheHowardSchool.org. Day-of registration will occur at 8:00am. All families are welcome.

About The Howard School

Founded in 1912 with Mrs. Hannah Howard’s morning lessons for six students, The Howard School is now a private non-profit school that provides a first-class, well-rounded education to children in Pre-Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. The curriculum is based in the Carden Method®, a comprehensive developmental approach that offers a classical education and emphasizes interrelated learning as well as character development. In addition to traditional subjects such as mathematics, language arts, science, history, and geography, the method focuses on cultural programs in art, music, and French. Physical education is offered every day along with a healthy lunch program. The Howard School’s core principles of reason, respect, and responsibility are integrated into the curriculum and serve to cultivate the character, strengths, and interests of each individual child.
