S.B. Genealogy Society Holds Its Annual Open House
Learning about your ancestry can be a fascinating undertaking: Did your kin help build America? Were they horse thieves? Military heroes? But how do you go about discovering the lost generations of your family? That’s where the S.B. County Genealogical Society comes in. The organization is holding its annual open house designed to help folks get started in their search by connecting them with Special Interest Groups (SIGs). This year’s SIGs include DNA Genealogy, Jewish Genealogy, Italian Genealogy, German Genealogy, Nikkei Genealogy, Technology and Genealogy, World War I Genealogy, and Writing Support. In addition to the open house, the society is offering special classes and events throughout the month of October, including Family Tree Maker, Part I (Oct. 15), Exploring FamilySearch.org (Oct. 22), and Fold3-Military Records and More (Oct. 29).
