The National Weather Service has expanded its red flag warning through Tuesday night to include the South Coast in addition to the mountain region of the county. Strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures are bringing a high fire danger for the area. As a result, County Fire has increased its staffing, upping the fleet by three enginers, one dozer, one water tender, one crew, one battalian chief, and a helicopter to be stationed at the Santa Barbara Airport.

Winds tonight from Goleta to Gaviota are projected to hit 40 miles per hour. Temperatures throughout the region have hit 100 degrees, with 15-to-20 percent humidity. A cooldown is expected to start on Wednesday but will likely creep up again next week. County Fire urges people to immediatley report signs of smoke and have evacuation plans in place.
