Santa Barbara Again Hosting Amgen Tour
Santa Barbara will be a host city next year for the 10th annual Amgen Tour of California (ATC), America’s largest cycling race. Professional riders will line up on the waterfront at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, for the start of Stage 5. The day’s race will finish in Santa Clarita.
It will be the third consecutive year the ATC will come through Santa Barbara. Last May, the fifth stage started in Pismo Beach and finished on Cabrillo Boulevard.
The 2015 tour will start on May 10 in Sacramento and wind up May 17 with a route from downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena.
Pismo Beach and Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo County will be the start and finish of Stage 4 on May 13.
