Congratulations. The latest No on P mailer sent to my mailbox proudly presented The Independent‘s “no” endorsement to accompany incredibly misleading claims such as “Measure P would shut down existing production and ban future oil production” along with a firefighter and teachers bewailing the loss of tax revenue. Do you think these guys are taking any of the subtleties of your No on P position into account? No way. They just tack it right in there with the rest of the dangerous drivel, and they are ramming the whole thing down our throats with brute application of Big Money here in our little county. I’m sure they were tickled to get you on board.

A peer-reviewed scientific paper by climatologists at Stanford (see Weatherwest.com) recently directly connected our current scary California drought with human-caused climate change. This is new research. How much closer to home can it get than that? How much tax revenue will be lost if California’s agricultural economy falls apart? If there literally is no state water? Making a clear statement on climate change is rapidly becoming a huge mountain we will all need to climb. Worrying about potentially difficult legal processes is a molehill.
