A Santa Barbara Superior Court judge on Friday sentenced Raul Yescas III to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women. A jury found Yescas, 25, guilty last July for the crimes, which occurred in 2010 and 2011. In 2010, Yescas raped an 18-year-old woman in her car that was parked in a downtown lot. In 2011, he entered a restroom at Paseo Nuevo and raped a 19-year-old woman. He was arrested in 2012 after his DNA — in a state database from an early burglary conviction — was matched.
