A 35-year-old man was found dead in his car at Fire Station 8 at the Santa Barbara Airport Wednesday afternoon, said SBPD spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood. Harwood called the circumstances “unusual” but said that no foul play is suspected in the man’s death and that his passing “could very well have been a medical issue” but isn’t suspected to be a suicide. The Coroner’s Office will determine a cause of death.

Just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities responded to the fire station, where fire department personnel discovered the man in his car in the parking lot. The name of the man, who wasn’t homeless, isn’t being released pending notification of his family, Harwood said.
