Several of the commissions and boards that influence the makeup of the county have vacancies on them, and though several demand quite a commitment of time, they are voluntary. First District Supervisor Salud Carbajal announced on Friday that residents of his district are needed on the Montecito Planning Commission, the North County Board of Architectural Review (NBAR), the County Fish and Game Commission, and the Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Problems.

The Montecito Planning Commission is seeking a resident of the Montecito Planning Area to make land use decisions in accordance with the Community Plan. The NBAR applicant must be a licensed architect or landscape architect, and the job encompasses the area north of Lompoc. Fish and Wildlife Commission members provide recommendations on projects, resources, and revenues. The alcohol and drug Advisory Board acts as a liaison with the community and brings its findings and advice to the Alcohol, Drug & Mental Health Services Department.

Applications should be made to the 1st District Supervisor’s office or the Clerk of the Board before June 12.
