Work to resurface the Santa Ynez Valley bike path between Alamo Pintado Road and Santa Ynez High School along Highway 246 will close the path starting Monday, June 1. A smoother surface should result with the fixing of potholes, patching of asphalt failures, and installing of a new shoulder backing. Detours and traffic control devices will be in place Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. as the work proceeds. The project, being conducted by Granite Construction Company at a cost of $143,198, should be completed by the end of June if the weather cooperates.
