A few letters in the “University of California Santa Barbara” sign at Henley Gate remain missing. Thieves have stolen pieces of the sign three times in the past two years. UCSB police spokesperson Sgt. Robert Romero said the last incident occurred about a month ago. He would not elaborate on any leads, citing an active investigation. The letters will be replaced soon, Romero added, and the university is looking for a way to better secure the signs.
