I believe our city employees are asleep. Over five weeks ago I had a bicycle accident and reported the cause, some green slime oozing across the bike lane on Coast Village Road from a drain in front of Vons in Montecito, to a city engineer. Nine days later, another cyclist had a similar accident (he had been blind carbon copied on my original email, along with a number of other cyclists). I informed the city again and again. Finally I got so frustrated I emailed the mayor and the city administrator, who promised a quick resolution. (I never heard back from the mayor’s office) After waiting another two-plus weeks, the problem still exists. Is this what we pay taxes for???

This is an extremely dangerous situation and would open the city and the owner of the drain to a very expensive lawsuit. Do we have to wait till someone gets killed before the problem is fixed?

It should be a relatively simple solution. The green slime was still running this morning.
