The arraignment in former KCOY news anchor Paula Lopez’s DUI and battery case has been postponed until November 20.

At a court hearing Monday, Lopez’s attorney Matt Conley said discovery is still taking place. Because the six counts against her are misdemeanors, Lopez was not required to be in court. Deputy District Attorney John Savrnoch is handling the case.

Prosecutors allege Lopez’s blood-alcohol content was at least twice the legal limit when she drove the wrong way on Highway 101 last month and then kicked two CHP officers after they puller her over at the Sandpiper Golf Course.

Later this month, reporter Melissa Mahan will take over Lopez’s evening anchor position on KCOY 12 Central Coast News.
