The Sheriff’s Rural Crimes Investigation unit discovered over $30,000 worth of stolen agricultural property in a Santa Maria storage locker on Thursday. Although most of the property — welding supplies and four broccoli-bunching machines — has been returned to its rightful owners, deputies are asking the community to help identify the owners of 31 rolls of drip tape and 16 different types of chemicals, including Quest Pesticide, Ecotec Insecticide, and sulfurous acid bisulfate.

“The suspect in this case may have ties to the Salinas Valley as well, but that has yet to be established,” said Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kelly Hoover in a release. For a complete list of the stolen chemicals, or to share information with Detective John McCarthy, call (805) 964-6512, email jhm2501@sbsheriff.org, or call anonymously at (805) 681-4171.
