[UPDATE: July 20, 2016, 2 p.m.] The Sheriff’s Office has released more information regarding Tuesday’s incident on Edgemound Drive. Authorities received a call that afternoon from a neighbor who said two people were fighting in the street. That call was followed by several from the subject — a black man, age 34, from Atlanta, Georgia, whose name was not disclosed. He said he’d “been injured and was being shot at by someone,” Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover emailed The Independent.

Patrol units in the area responded. A Sheriff’s deputy contacted the man and determined the call was false; the man appeared to be “suffering from a mental health issue and was likely under the influence of a controlled subject,” said Hoover.

[UPDATE: July 19, 2016, 4:30 p.m.] Responders located a man who was uninjured but appeared to be hallucinating. He was being transported by ambulance, and the emergency call was cancelled.
