The tiny Montecito Branch Library will be sponsoring “random acts of knitting” on Saturday, August 27, as librarian Tatiana Johnson invites knitters, crocheters, and pom-pom makers to yarn bomb its book drop. Yarn and pom-poms will be on hand to string around the book drop, bring your own creations to help the library create a colorful and textured box, or just come watch the fun.

To get into the anticipatory spirit of the event, the library, located at 1469 East Valley Road, has also been the longtime location of a Knitting Circle that meets every Thursday from 2-3:30 p.m. All library programs are free and open to the public. Montecito Branch Library is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. It is currently closed Sunday-Monday. For more information, call 969-5063.
