Smoke and Cellophane

Ask any conservative for two places where socialism is alive and well, and they’ll likely tell you our school system and Hollywood. (Ironically this is where the moral majority have been using fear as propaganda in the war on drugs.) Vaping and edibles are the two newest battles in the American psyche, yet these “substances” are the likely reason teen smoking and heavy use of drugs and alcohol dropped significantly in recent reports by the FDA.

Last week the federal government left marijuana as a Class One drug having no medical benefits despite 25 states saying differently. Doing an about-face in the same breath, the feds opened the floodgate of corporate funding of selective pharmaceutical research.

Prop. 64 has the same loopholes that will lead the marijuana industry away from the hipster hangouts that bring local money and jobs into individually cellophane wrapped, cardboard cartons of stuff grown on an old superfund site. Buyer beware is an understatement!

Once again we learn that the ones sitting around waiting for the spreading of wealth are the corporations lobbying the politicians. Ask any conservative “how can this be” and they’ll likely tell you “capitalism” can make this country great again.
